Methodology & data sources
This page explains how we arrive at a price and how long ago the underlying data was checked — it does not cover partners or how SkiRouter makes money (that's in the Terms and Privacy policy).
The three price states
Every line in a budget (hotel, flight, transport, lift pass, gear) shows one of three states:
- ✓ confirmed — the price comes from a real-time quote from the supplier, for the dates and group you entered.
- ~ estimate — a good-faith approximation (e.g. a hotel via Booking.com with no confirmed booking), close enough to plan with but subject to confirmation on the supplier's site.
- from — there isn't enough input yet for a concrete estimate (e.g. no dates chosen), so we show the lowest plausible value for the season.
The same legend appears next to every budget: ✓ = confirmed · ~ = estimate · from = starting price.
What "package total" means
Every price on SkiRouter is the package total for 2 adults — never per person, never per night. This covers hotel, flight, transport, lift pass and gear rental, when selected. For groups with children or more adults, the total scales automatically as you build the trip.
Where the data comes from, and how fresh it is
Hotel and flight prices are fetched in real time (Booking.com and flight partners). For items without a real-time pricing API — such as transfers in some resorts — we use manually curated data sourced from the operator's own site, with the date it was checked. For example, a curated transfer shows "source verified {date}"; on resort pages, the freshness of other curated data shows "checked today" or "checked N days ago". Stale data gets periodically reviewed, never invented.
