The resort

Champoluc is the gateway to Monterosa Ski from the Ayas Valley (~1,580 m), one of the three valleys that together make up ~180 km of linked pistes between Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna, with high-altitude snow up to 3,275 m. Mostly red terrain and a freeride paradise on the Alagna side, it retains an authentic, less crowded Italian atmosphere. Entry is via Milan Malpensa (MXP, ~2h15 by car on the A4 and A5 to Verrès and then the SR45 up the valley).

The village

A family-friendly village, with streets of restaurants and rental shops next to the base, where the Champoluc–Crest gondola rises straight to the pistes. Higher up, quiet Frachey and panoramic Antagnod, with views of the Monte Rosa massif, offer higher and more peaceful alternatives.
