The resort
Grimentz-Zinal is the largest area in the Val d'Anniviers, in the heart of Valais, where two villages of sun-scorched timber chalets have been linked by cable car since 2014. It is ~120 km of pistes between Grimentz at 1,570 m and Sorebois at 2,900 m, with reliable snow from mid-November to April and breathtaking views over the four-thousanders (Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Dent Blanche). Predominantly red terrain and a few demanding blacks make it a top choice for intermediates and strong skiers. You arrive by plane to Geneva (GVA), train to Sierre and then bus or car up the Val d'Anniviers climb.

The village
Grimentz is the main resort, a picture-postcard village at 1,570 m with flower-lined lanes, historic chalets and the Bendolla gondola on the edge of the centre. Zinal, at the valley floor at ~1,670 m, is the second hub — more alpine and backpacker-friendly, linked to the same area by the Sorebois gondola.
