The resort
La Molina is Spain's oldest ski resort: the country's first ski lift entered service on 28 February 1943, and the first ski school opened a year later. In the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees (Cerdanya, Girona), it offers 71 km of pistes across 66 runs for all levels, a large snowpark and the biggest superpipe in the Pyrenees. It is part of the Alp 2500 area — the link with neighbouring Masella that adds up to 145 km of pistes and 33 lifts on a single pass. It is one of the rare resorts with its own train station (direct Renfe/Rodalies R3 from Barcelona, ~3h).

The village
The La Molina base (~1,700 m) gathers hotels (Amoretes, Solineu), apartments and the Cadí-Moixeró gondola into the ski area; the resort village extends down to La Molina train station, ~1.5 km below. Masella, the southern side of the area, has its own base at Pla de Masella (~1,600 m).
