The resort

Le Grand-Bornand is one of the rare French resorts where the village came first: Reblochon farms, a weekly market and a baroque church at 950 m, with the skiing proper starting at Le Chinaillon, the 1300 m mountain hamlet reached by twin gondolas (Rosay and Joyère). Its own domain runs 84 continuous km up to 2100 m at Le Lachat — 61% of runs are green or blue, the snowpark is nationally ranked and one black drops 1100 vertical metres. Geneva is ~75 transfer minutes away with direct Lisbon and Porto flights.

The village

Two levels, one Grand-Bo: the historic village at 950 m keeps its cheese-farming soul (Reblochon AOP, Wednesday market, fermes-auberges), while Le Chinaillon at 1300 m is the snow-sure slope-side base. Après-ski is quiet and family-shaped; in 2030 it hosts Olympic biathlon. For families, beginners and anyone wanting the authentic Alps without mega-resort circus; experts will ski it all in two days.
