Pal-Arinsal (Vallnord) is the most family-friendly ski area in the Pyrenees, in the parish of La Massana, Andorra: 63 km of pistes across two sectors — Pal, wooded and quiet, and Arinsal, with a lively ski-in base — linked by gondola between 1,550 and 2,537 m. Andorra is a micro-state with no airport or railway, so you arrive by bus/transfer or by car from Barcelona (~210 km, ~3h) or Toulouse (~206 km, ~3h). Wide terrain for beginners and families, with tax-free shopping and excellent value for money.

The village
Arinsal is the main base, ski-in at 1,550 m, with a gondola from the village centre up to Comallempla and a lively après-ski (very popular with the British). Pal is the wooded, serene sector, reached by road up to La Caubella or by the La Massana gondola. La Massana, the valley town, has the best services, dining and tax-free shopping, with a gondola straight to the Pal sector. With no airport or station in Andorra, the final leg is always by bus or car.
