The resort

Host of the 2013 Alpine Skiing World Championships, Schladming is a Styrian village where the Planaibahn leaves right from the centre. The 4-Berge-Skischaukel links Planai, Hochwurzen, Hauser Kaibling and Reiteralm on a single Ski amadé pass — 123 km of mostly intermediate terrain between 750 and 2,015 m, famous for night-skiing and après-ski. You get there via Munich (MUC), ~2h40-3h by ÖBB train via Salzburg or by car.

The village

The main village buzzes with lively après-ski and night-skiing on the Planai, with a direct link to the Skischaukel. Around it, Haus im Ennstal holds the highest point at Hauser Kaibling, Rohrmoos-Untertal is the family area of Hochwurzen, and Reiteralm, to the west, offers wide, well-groomed pistes in a quiet valley.
