The resort

Wengen clings to a car-free terrace at 1,274 m, facing the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It is part of the Jungfrau area (~110 km) shared with Grindelwald, home to the fabled Lauberhorn downhill. Reached only by rack railway from Lauterbrunnen — there is no road.
