Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) crowns the Val Pusteria with a summit at 2,275 m and 360º panoramas over the Dolomites, offering 125 km of almost treeless, perfectly groomed pistes with 100% artificial snow coverage — a rare reliability even in poor winters. A realm of carving and of the demanding Black Five, it is part of the Dolomiti Superski pass (1,232 km across 12 linked areas). Reached via Venice (VCE, ~2h30 by car via the A27/A22 to Bruneck) or by train on the Val Pusteria line.

The village
Bruneck/Brunico is the main town of the Val Pusteria and a services hub, with a railway station and urban life, with the cable car base in the neighbouring district of Reischach — the busiest departure point, with rental shops and a ski school at the door. On the north-east side of the massif, Olang/Valdaora is a quieter, family-friendly village.
